Butterfly Valves
Whether metal- or soft-seated, centric or eccentric:
At Kaehler Industrie-Armaturen you will find a large number of different butterfly valves for your application.
What are Ball Valves?
Butterfly valves are important industrial valves that are used to control and shut-off media flows in piping systems. They are characterized by their simple design, reliable functionality, small footprint and cost-effectiveness, especially with large nominal diameters.
Unlike ball valves, butterfly valves change the flow rate by means of a disk that can be rotated in the flow cross-section. When the butterfly valve is fully open, the disk is aligned parallel to the direction of flow. Butterfly valves are well suited for shutting-off various media, but have a certain flow resistance when fully open.
There are two main types of butterfly valves: metal-seated and soft-seated butterfly valves. Metal-seated butterfly valves are very robust and are particularly suitable for use at high temperatures and pressures. Soft-seated butterfly valves, on the other hand, are more flexible and can also be used for abrasive media.
The design of butterfly valves can be divided into different categories, including centric as well as single, double and triple eccentric. Each of these designs has its own advantages and areas of use, depending on the requirements of the application.
The areas of application for butterfly valves are diverse and range from district heating and cooling networks, drinking water and water treatment plants, the food industry, steam, gas and oil plants to the chemical industry.
Whether you need a metal-seated or soft-seated butterfly valve, we offer a variety of high quality products to meet your requirements. Contact us to find out more about our butterfly valves and their applications.
